Good Beans is a Brooklyn based art and photo studio. We make photo prints and posters that make your soul smile, smirk, or giggle. Because the world is a dumpster fire, but it's also amazing.
No, it has nothing to do with coffee. Yes, we understand the name is misleading. And no, we're not gonna change it. Here's why:
Our Founder Chris spent the past 12 years creating documentaries and taking photos in over 70 countries, mostly in conflict and post conflict-areas of the world. And no matter how difficult or complicated the situation, there was always one thing that never changed: the existence of impossibly wonderful people risking their own necks to lend some random person a hand. That and babies waking themselves up with their own farts. Also people hiding behind a wall of the warehouse-turned-refugee-camp we were sleeping in to scare the bejesus out of someone who's had a really bad day.
What became clear over the years was that "goodness" didn't mean one thing. It simply meant meeting and accepting a person or situation exactly where they were, and doing it with as much love and laughter as you could. To us, that's good beans. So we started this company to create and capture as many good beans as possible. And to make sure we never forget our mission, we made it the name. Even though it makes it sound like a coffee brand. Which again, it isn't. If you're looking for coffee, it ain't here.
But if you're looking for stuff that makes the world (and your wall) a little more powerful, sexy, resistant, and funny, you came to the right place.
Everything is designed, printed, cut, framed, and made right here in NYC.
To put our money where our mouth is, we put 5% of our profits across all our products towards our Good Beans Fund.
When the Fund gets to a certain amount, we take that $ and use it to send good beans out into the world. It could be sending money directly to someone we know doing amazing work in conflict zones, it could also be put towards paying a mime to stand outside of ICE offices to mess with them all day. Point is, part of your money will go directly to creating good beans for the world.
